Barcodes For The North American Market
In the United States and Canada, barcode labels are called UPC or Universal Product Code. These labels are found on all types of products, which make the check out experience at your local store quick, easy, and accurate. Just as with European markets, North America has a number of codes, some more widely used than others. - Code 39 – Although this particular barcode was one of the initial ones developed, it remains a popular choice. This code consists of variable lengths, meaning the number of characters you wish to encode is endless, within reason of course. Additionally, this particular code is designed to support alphabetic and numeral characters. Because of its diversity, Code 39 works great in many applications.
- Code 128 – This barcode provides extremely, high-density, which is capable of supporting both alphabet and numeral characters. Of all asset labels used, this is without doubt on of the favorites. This barcode is also the foundation on which many other barcodes are designed.
