Data once deleted from the disk can be recovered back. The process of recovering back of the data is known as data recovery. Data recovery is required at place where some important data is lost and its backup is not available. If the backup is available then there is no requirement of the data recovery. But if the data is not backed up the data recovery is required. Also it is again matter of concern that only the important data must be chosen for recovery. The data whose backup is available should be removed from the list of files to be recovered. This increases the speed as well as chances for better data recovery.
Also it must be taken care that files that are deleted using the wipe utility cannot be recovered back as it deletes the file and fills the content of the file with junk values. Thus any such try to recover the data that has been wiped should not be made. As it will only waste time.
Always, you must use two hard disks while recovering and the disk from which the deleted file recovery is to take place should be kept read only. By keeping that drive read only we omit the chances for further accidents that can lead to more data corruption.
Undelete utility can also recover the files that has been removed from the recycle bin. And also recover those files that have been deleted during system format.
