DVD Production
All of you must have heard about DVDs and you might be having its use for watching movies, playing games, copying and storing data through some DVD copying software etc, but one might have never get his/her focus on the idea of how these DVDs get produced.
The production of DVD is divided into two phases: Development and Publishing. The development process varies for different DVDs depending on their formats but the publishing is essentially the same for both. Data on the DVDs can be duplicated or replicated depending on the volume and amount of data. Replication is favored when more than 100 copies of data are required since it gives the quality silk screening to each DVD copy to give it a store bought appearance. For projects requiring fewer than a few hundred copies, you can use duplication process in which recordable blanks can be fed into a recorder, and labels can be printed on the disc too.
The contents of DVD-ROM can be developed with any traditional software development tools. Whereas the content development of DVD-Video takes three steps: encoding, authoring and pre-mastering. Many dvd software available in the market today offers dvd authoring services. Pre-mastering is the process of pressing discs into the production line that gets the data replicated on new discs. Many modern machines are used to produce these disks which cost a million of dollars. DVD-Video mastering may also include CSS encryption for preventing dvd copying.
