Many documents, photos, and video being shared via electronic device could be deemed confidential or at least, personal. If you want to share things through your computer, mobile phone, or other media but want to ensure the data is secure, you should consider using the SD memory stick or card. Developed and launched by SanDisk in 2001, along with Toshiba and Panasonic, this card provides tons of storage space and a write protect characteristic. Interestingly, of all memory cards on the market, the SD is the most common. For example, these cards are usually found in PDAs and digital cameras.

Following the SD concept was the release of a miniature version called the micro-sd. Put on the market in 2003, this smaller version of the SD memory card is quite impressive. Keep in mind that with the smaller design comes less capacity, approximately 60%. Even so, the size and number of files that can be saved and shared is remarkable. With the micro-sd model, you would lose the write protect feature but still enjoy speed and space.
