Issues of Compatibility Between SD and SDHC
Although there are just a few differences between the SD and the SDHC memory card, some compatibility issues have been identified. Remember, SDHC is a newer version that offers more capacity and faster speed over other memory cards. However, to use an SDHC memory stick, you would need to ensure the electronic device supports it. In other words, you may have a device that easily recognized the SD card but not the SDHC card. Another problem that people have come across is that they purchase a new electronic device, which supports SD, four gigabytes but trying to use a two-gigabyte card or the SDHC card would not work because they are not compatible.
The best thing you can do is always purchase the same type and capacity memory card, as what the manufacturer recommends. Therefore, if you purchased a new gaming console controller, one that came with an SD four-gigabyte card, you would need to use that very card. Sometimes, some devices will use variations of memory cards but again, you want to check with the manufacturer. Otherwise, you will end up frustrated and wasting time and money.
