Compaq, together with Hewlett Packard, have made some incredible, technological changes, pushing them to a leading position in the industry to include better options for HP memory. First, there are hundreds of computer models, meaning Compaq has something for every person’s needs. Second, memory upgrades for each of these models is also available. Popular choices of Compaq computer are the Business desktop and Business laptop. Both of these products can be enhanced with performance memory designed for the specific computer. As an example, the desktop dx 2250 comes with 256 megabytes of memory already. However, for a powerful solution, the PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM DIMM pushes the system to a maximum of two gigabytes.

Compaq Presario and Evo are also great contenders. With Presario memory, you would see the 1010 model providing installed memory of 16 megabytes, which is non-r*emovable. To create a more robust system, an upgrade to 16 megabytes would make a significant difference. Then for Evo memory, an upgrade would boost the memory capacity to a maximum of three gigabytes from just 256 megabytes. As with any company – it is important that you buy upgradeable memory intended only for your computer. Whether looking at Compaq’s Smart memory, TaskSmart memory, or Prolinea memory, or some other product such as Apple’s Workgroup memory, use what is designed for the system you have.
