Mini DVD and its Variations:

DVD is the most common trend in digital data storage these days. Due to its extensive storage capacity, mass data is mostly stored in it using DVD burning software.

Mini DVD refers to a small version of DVD both in its physical size (80 mm diameter disc) and capacity (1.4 GB data). Mini DVD’s are also referred commonly as “3 inch DVD”. The writeable version of it is extensively used in latest camcorders available in the market. It can hold 30 minutes of DVD quality video recording. Single Sided Dual Layer mini DVD+R and mini DVD-R were introduced back in 2006 with even more storage space (up to 2.66 GB) in same physical size of a mini DVD. There are several versions in mini DVD which are discussed further. Sony introduced a covered version of min DVD and called it UMD. It has a protection core and easily portable. Similarly Nintendo gaming system has its own flavor of mini DVD which is a variant of 80mm DVD. Nintendo adopted it to discourage piracy in their game through DVD burning software.

Sue to its vast consumption in cam coders devices and as a compact and big storage  device, there are many types of it available in the market so it can be burned with data through best DVD copying software for reliability.
