RFID Tag Problems

Using the RFID tag solution is a great one for many people. Typically, the results are quite good but there are a few drawbacks. Take the orientation of RFID labels as an example. If the tag has an improper orientation, not being rotated right, there is a chance the alignment between the tag and RFID reader would be lost. The good news is that the fix for this potential problem is relatively easy. You would need to implement more than one reader and choose tags designed with a number of axis antenna.

Another problem that might arise with RFID tags is called “Ghosting” or “Ghost Tags”. This means that once in awhile, if you were using several tags being read simultaneously, the RFID reader may actually read a non-existent tag. To ensure this problem is stopped before it begins, we suggest you consider a read verification system. Whether using the verifier at the reader or tag does not really matter, as long as it is used. Just as with Ghost tags, RFID can also miss reading a tag. Again, when running multiple tags simultaneously, there is a slight possibility for one or more of the tags to be missed. Again, a verifier will help with this issue.
