The Good and Bad of SDHC Memory

Are you thinking about buying an SDHC memory card but want to do your homework first to ensure you get exactly what you need?  If so, great idea since you will find that not all memory cards are created equal. The easy part of the process is that you can read the package for the memory stick to determine if it meets the standards for the device in which you would use it, as well as the type and amount of storage you have. If you still have questions, you can always contact the manufacturer for the electronic device owned to determine the best option. In other words, if you have a Sony camera and want to save still photo and video files, the company itself could guide you to the right type of memory stick.

For starters, SDHC memory cards are easy to find. Unfortunately, some reviews will point you away from certain brands. As an example, reviews for the SanDisk have not been favorable. Although SanDisk is a huge supplier, most people agree that performance of this card falls well below standard.  Another option for SDHC memory is called the Ultra II, Class 6. Being a lesser-known brand, performance is not quite as strong as top competitors are and this stick is a little on the pricy side but overall, this is not a bad choice. Now for the good, the Kingston SDHC, Class 2 memory card is extremely affordable while offering portability and high performance.  Interestingly, just because a particular type of SDHC memory card is costly does not necessarily make it the best choice. Therefore, weigh all your options, read reviews, and make sure what you choose works for its intended purpose.
